Over on Urban Survival Site is a great post called 5 Survival Cooking Tips. Survival cooking is a lot different from everyday cooking.  These 5 survival cooking tips will make cooking easier while preserving resources and maintaining your health.
  • While cooking, keep the lids on pots and pans. It will keep the heat in and help you cook more efficiently
  • Use potatoes to get rid of excess sodium. Most canned foods have a lot of sodium.  To get rid of some of it, put a few slices of potatoes into your food while cooking then remove them when finished
  • Always cook with olive oil. Olive oil is good for you and helps to make cleanup easier.
