One of the main considerations when planning a survival garden is making sure it can provide you with carbohydrates, protein, and fat. These are essential for survival. The following 10 crops are good sources for the carbohydrates, protein, and fat that are critical for you to survive if food is scarce.
  • Corn - High in carbohydrates and has some protein
  • Beans - good source of protein
  • Quinoa - good source of carbohydrates and some protein
  • Potato - good source of carbohydrates and some protein
  • Amaranth - source of protein
