The Best Route To Bug Out Or Get Back Home
Over on Modern Survival Blog there is a great article on finding the best route if you need to bug out or get back home in an emergency situation. The article pointed out to avoid major and well traveled roads, which most preppers already know. Also to avoid major secondary roads. The next tip however is the real gem of the article. Know the back roads that DO NOT intersect with an on-ramp or off-ramp of a major traveled artery, and are not major secondary roads. If a road has an on or off-ramp to a major road, it will probably be packed with traffic. Prepare ahead of time. Use Google Maps or Google Earth to plan your routes, then make sure that you have printed maps to use for that bug out situation.
